After installation, you can't have the spare wheel under the hood.
Installation instruction ZST 2.5 Alternator Raise kit
1.1. Disconnect the Alternator wires including the field winding wire.
1.2. Remove the engine guard, the right engine boot, loosen the belt and remove the generator.
1.3. Loosen the power steering belt tension and remove the pump from the standard bracket
1.4. Completely dismantle the standard power steering bracket
1.5. Using a stud driver, unscrew the 4 studs needed to secure the new bracket. Unscrew the M8 cylinder head bolt and unscrew the nuts: distributor plug and fuel pump plug (only from the left stud). Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
1.6. Fasten the power steering pump to the butterfly plates with standard M8 bolts. The outer plate (closer to the radiator) is larger and has 6 holes. The inner one has five holes.
1.7. Install the power steering pump on the bracket without tightening the M10 mounting bolts
1.8. Mount the bracket on the engine, use the standard fasteners and M6 front cover bolts from the delivery set for final installation. If there are critical gaps between the bracket and the block, use spacer washers.
1.9. Gradually and alternately tighten the bracket to the engine, avoiding distortions. In case of a non-standard (low) cylinder head, put structural washers under it to equalize the height.
1.10. Install the generator, tensioner sector sickle, belt, and tighten the belt.
1.11. Check: 1. touching the edge of the crankshaft sensor lug with the belt. 2. touching the head of the upper bolt of the outer butterfly bar of the power steering pump with the belt.
1.12. In the first case: if the contact is without a gap (butt-to-butt), remove no more than 2 mm of metal from the edge of the boss with an angle grinder or a file. In the second case, move the bolt to the adjacent hole.
1.13.After checking the contacts and gaps, loosen the tension of the generator, put on the power steering belt and tighten its tension bolts.
1.14. Install the crankshaft sensor in such a way that under no circumstances does its wire touch the belts.
11.5 Adjust the generator as closely as possible to the pump and crankshaft pulleys, tighten the belt and tighten the fasteners.
1.16.Install the ground wire with one side STRICTLY to the generator body through the lower bolt inside the mounting ears, and the other to the pre-cleaned stud of the fuel pump plug. Mount (extend if necessary) the wiring to the generator
1.17. Remove the radiator hose from the top of the radiator and cut 10 mm off the hose. Install it back.
1.18. Mount the hose mounting fork in such a way that the hose can never touch the generator pulley.
1.19. Start the engine, check the charging current, contact/beating of the belts and, if there are no critical moments, perform a test drive, then tighten the alternator belt.
