If you’ve noticed some rust inside your new fuel tank for the VAZ 2107, don’t worry — this is a completely normal occurrence. Sometimes, during manufacturing or transportation, a small amount of rust residue can remain inside the tank, especially if it has been exposed to moisture. This is not a defect and does not affect the tank’s performance.
To remove the rust and prepare the tank for use, we recommend cleaning it with gasoline. This is a simple and effective method to eliminate rust and other contaminants.
Here's how to do it:
- Pour 2-3 liters of gasoline into the tank.
- Close the cap and shake the tank thoroughly to ensure the gasoline cleans all the internal surfaces.
- Drain the gasoline through the fuel hose or filling opening.
- Repeat the process a few times to make sure the tank is rust-free.
If needed, you can gently rinse the tank with water after cleaning it with gasoline. Make sure the tank is completely dry before installing it.
